Youth Changemaker

Soraya Tehranchi

How are you a changemaker?

Beyond the work I have contributed to my community, I am a changemaker through the awareness and compassion carried throughout my daily life. Inspiring others through joyful and motivating activities is my goal, which is why I have spent all my free time performing at school events and sharing my personal experiences at local elementary schools. Music has given me purpose and drive, while having taught me many valuable lessons, such as commitment and patience. It brings me joy knowing that I have helped inspire others to embark on their own musical journeys.

Other than actively going out and participating in instances of outreach to achieve change, I also hope to instill change through instances of leadership and active listening. In order to instill change and make one's community stronger, it is essential to support those around you as each individual has their own goals. By participating in the act of attentive listening and conversation, I can play a role in achieving the goals of those around me and overall positively affect my community.

"What is ONE simple thing others can do to be changemakers?”

In order to be a changemaker one has to advocate for the change and progress that you are passionate about and truly want to see in the world. Therefore, a simple task one can do in order to be a changemaker is to share what makes them passionate with others. Whether it is something that makes you angry, such as the pollution of oceans or something that makes you happy such as writing, it is important to share. Sharing can inspire others to get involved or even to inspire others in participating on their own journeys of change.
